Routine
At The Flying Horse Playhouse we appreciate the importance of routine in a daycare environment. As such, our days take on predictable but flexible schedules.
We like to try to get out of the daycare at least once a day (weather permitting) in order to attend classes, explore the city or parks, or attend little field trips to museums or libraries.

We also have a few specialists available who come to our daycare in the afternoons such as french and music teachers.

Our curriculum
Our afternoon curriculum typically addresses one or two disciplines depending on the children’s interest level and the time available.

Our curriculum is tailored to the students in attendance and we typically break it down into a few different areas of study—music and movement, science exploration, linguistic development, number sense, reading readiness, and art/creative exploration.
We address each area of study in a way that stimulates the children’s interests and provides an appropriate level of challenge.

Classes
Another feature of our daycare are the classes we sign the kids up for. As we are a small group, we figured that a way to not only stimulate the children’s social needs, but also expose them to new perspectives and activities was to sign them up for classes and take theon outings. Typically we sign them up for one or two classes per week ranging from gymnastics or swimming lessons to art or French music classes. In terms of outings, we try to get out and about as weather permits, and go to age appropriate special events, trips to the myriad museums downtown, or adventures to the local parks that are close by.

Daycare hours and meal plan
The daycare hours are generally flexible, but ideally we like to keep our operating hours from 8/8:30 until 6/6:30.
Our meal plan is equally as flexible as the rest of the facets of the daycare. Meals are included in the tuition cost, and we are happy to cater to your specific needs or preferences!
